Titles Held

MWF World Tag Team Title 6/18/89 - 8/13/90
(defeated Bobo Bravo and Brother Perfect)

MWF World Heavyweight Title 5/21/97 - 10/14/97
(defeated Brother Friend)

MWF World Heavyweight Title 3/20/98 - 5/30/98
(9-man Elimination Confrontation Winner)

Greatest Match: 5/21/97 vs. Brother Friend. This match was originally signed to be Mike Speedo vs. Double-7 in a Falls-Count-Anywhere Respect Match, but the reigning MWF World champion Brother Friend attacked Double-7 and sanctioned the match on the spot for the belt. Speedo overcame a terrible beating not the least of which was sustaining broken ribs. Speedo gutted it out, however, and scaled the MWF arena to its balcony, leaped off and pinned Brother Friend with a flying bodypress to capture the MWF World title.

Favorite Match: 7/17/89 vs. Bobo Bravo. This was the first-ever meeting of Mike Speedo and Bobo Bravo which took place at MWF Superclash 1989. Despite the disparity of size of the two competitors, they wrestled a competitive back-and-forth match-up. The larger, more powerful Bobo was often stymied by the speed and agility of Speedo. Finally, Bobo was forced to resort to underhanded chicanery as he pinned Speedo with his feet placed on the ropes for extra leverage.

Toughest Opponent: Fiend. Speedo and Fiend met quite frequently during the course of their careers, as Fiend possessed the power and mat techniques that always proved to be a huge obstacle for the smaller, aerodynamic Speedo.

Most Hated Opponent: Bonecrusher Bob. Engaged in a number of classic confrontations with the unpredictable host of the Bonecrusher Bob show. The bully Bob always tried his best to end Mike Speedo's wrestling career. Was never able to achieve a pinfall victory over the wily Bonecrusher.

Favorite Manuever: Flying elbow off the ropes. One of Speedo's signature manuevers, the flying elbow often proved to be a valuable equalizer when squaring off against larger, stronger opponents. When throwing an opponent into ropes, Speedo bounced off the opposite ropes picking up momentum, lunged at his opponent, pivoted in mid-air and struck the victim with the point of his elbow.

Scouting Report

==Strengths==
: Master High Flyer.
In the history of the MWF, no man was better at achieving victories via the top rope. When Speedo executes a daring manuever from the top rope, (or from other heights!) it nearly ALWAYS resulted in a pinfall victory.
: Intestinal Fortitude. The plucky wrestler is ALWAYS the underdog in just about any match-up, but won't let that stop him. Has battled back and emerged victorious on numerous occasions when his opponents thought him beaten.
: Underestimated By Opponents. One look at Mike Speedo, and he is very easy to dismiss as an easy night. But Speedo is a cagey veteran. Knows his strengths and capitalizes on them thus is able to frustrate his opponents far more easily than they might first think. Possesses a fine offensive repertoire and can adapt to any opponent's style.

==Weaknesses==
: Small Size. The smallest wrestler to compete in the MWF. Can be picked up and thrown around like a ragdoll by virtually any MWF opponent.
: Reduced Resilience. The physical demands of taking high-risk manuevers wrestling large opponents night after night, year after year has taken its toll on Speedo. He is now finding out that injuries are occuring with greater frequency and the time needed to bounce back from these injuries is taking longer and longer.
: High-Flying Over-Reliance. If Speedo cannot put an opponent away with a top-rope manuever or an aerial manuever by whipping an opponent off the ropes, he is generally in deep trouble.
: Taunter. Well-known for verbally taunting opponents during matches. Sometimes it works and makes his opponent more prone to make mistakes, but more often than not it can distract Speedo himself from getting the job done.

Career Bio
Mike Speedo first entered the MWF in late 1989. Billed in his try-out match originally as Berzerker, Speedo also competed as Spike with "Bad Brother" Chainsaw (Dr. Destruction) before debuting as Mike Speedo later that year. Teamed with brother Dr. Destruction to defeat the veteran duo of Brother Perfect and Bobo Bravo at Superclash 1989 to win the MWF World tag team titles. In the first King Of The Ring tournament to crown the MWF's first world champion, Mike Speedo pinned Brother Mean in the first round but was pinned in the second round by the tourney winner, Bobo Bravo following a poor interference attempt by his MWF tag championship partner, Dr. Destruction. Participated at the 1990 Ironman tournament taking on a score of top-notch MWF competitors; went to a time-limit draw with Bonecrusher Bob, was pinned by Brother Perfect, lost by countout to his tag partner Destruction, totally outwrestled and defeated Buford T. Justice by dq, and successfully pinned Rugged Rich. Lost the tag team titles to Brett Krueger and mystery partner Brother Perfect at Wrestlemania 1990. Suffered the losing pinfall of that contest due to a manuever in which Brother Perfect gorilla-pressed Krueger onto the prone Speedo. After a brief feud with Destruction, the two were named #1 contenders to the MWF tag titles following that title being vacated when Brett Krueger retired due to the AIDS virus. Faced, but lost to the Coalition ; General Nuisance and Private Parts; in a match to determine the new tag team champions. Devoted time to the training of new MWF superstars such as Masa Sushi and Garbageman George Refuse. A revitalized Speedo returned to wrestling at Wrestlemania 1995 and was victorious by pinning Bobo Bravo to win a Survior Series match-up. Along with Dr. Destruction, was attacked by Rugged Ralph and Bobo Bravado when their anti-MWF New World Alliance group first invaded the MWF in late 1996. With the NWA throwing their weight around, Brett Krueger complaining about a lack of world title shots, and even his own brother Doctor Destruction creating his Majority of Superiority, Speedo felt overlooked in the MWF title picture. Respect was his goal, and Speedo began challenging anyone to get into the ring with him. This led to a strange series of events. At Summer Showdown 1997, a match was originally scheduled to be a falls-count-anywhere respect match between Mike Speedo and the NWA's Bobo Bravado, but Bobo failed to appear. Double-7 stepped up to the plate, and accepted Speedo's challenge. The reigning MWF World champion, Brother Friend attacked Double-7 before the match, however, and took his place against Speedo putting his MWF belt on the line. Although dominating the match and injuring Speedo, Brother Friend was defeated when Speedo pinned him with a flying bodypress off the balcony of MWF Arena to capture the respect he sought AND the MWF World Title. But the victory had its price, as Speedo was found to have sustained broken ribs during his title victory. Fortunately, the MWF's 30-day title defense rule had been lightly enforced over the years, so Speedo was able to hold onto the title and recuperate. Was attacked by the order of Reverend Ralph Right during a confessional, thus returned at King of the Ring 1997 and put the MWF title on the line against the Reverend. Although beset at times by the trouble-making valet of the Reverend, Amazing Grace, got the upper hand on the Reverend, Speedo-edged, then frog-splashed him for the victory to retain the belt. That same event, faced the winner of the King of the Ring tournament Mountain of Molten Lust, and defeated him due to interference by the NWA. Although signed to wrestle #1 contender Brett Krueger at MWF Wrestlemania 1997, was diagnosed by doctors as having complications to the rib injury he had sustained when winning the MWF belt from Fiend, thus was forced to vacate the MWF title, which he did at MWF Wrestlemania 1997 to close out that fateful year. Recuperated from his injuries, and entered the 1998 Elimination Confrontation which was to decide the new MWF champion as a result, ironically, of Speedo's forfeiture of the belt in 1997. Also at Sping Fling 1998, answered the challenge of Double-7, who sought to avenge his being taken out of their original falls-count anywhere match against Speedo in 1997. Speedo attacked Double-7 before the bell with a cookie sheet, then frog-splashed him to take a quick first fall. Double-7 battled back, however, and managed to take the final two falls to defeat Speedo. After the match, the two MWF competitors shook hands and both joined the enimatic astrologer ZODIAC's new group stable. They both went on to the fateful 9-man Elimination Confrontation to crown the MWF's new champion. Survived until the very end until he was alone with the NWA's Bobo Bravado amd Brother Fiend. Having feigned MWF allegiance to be reinstated into the Elimination match, Brother Fiend showed his true black-and-white NWA colors and he and Bravado mercilessly double-teamed Mike Speedo. Thinking him beaten, Brother Friend "lied down" to allow Bravado to pin him. To the horror of the NWA, however, Brother Fiend's former bodyguard Juicer Jeremy ran in and blind-sided Bravado, enabling Speedo the chance to climb to the top turnbuckle for a frog-splash and win the MWF World title for an unprecedented second reign. At Lunatic Fringe 1998, was able to finally give Brett Krueger a MWF World title match. Despite having Krueger's F.U.C.K.T. anti-conspiracy entourage present at ringside, pinned Krueger after administering 2 consecutive frog-splashes to defeat the overconfident Krueger. Faced his former tag-team championship partner and brother Dr. Destruction at the 1998 Battlebowl event. A controversial match to say the least, Speedo and Destruction were initially double-disqualified when emotions started getting the better of each as they tore into each other with steel chairs. Not satisfied with this decision, the two actually perfomed their tag-team finisher on the referee Ed Johanson, and continued the match now officiated by the special "outside-the-ring enforcer" assigned to the match, the New World Alliance founder, Rugged Ralph. There had been history between Speedo and Ralph, however, as Speedo had once beaten him in an unavenged loss in a match some 8 years ago, thus Rugged Ralph favored the challenger for the remainder of the contest performing slow counts for Speedo. Despite this, Speedo managed to nail Dr. Destruction with a super-froggie splash. Once again, however, Rugged Ralph counted slowly and Dr. Destruction was able to kick out. Enraged by the actions of Ralph, Speedo hung in and attempted another top-rope manuever, but was caught by Destruction and fisherman-buster suplexed thru a table for a quick 3-count to lose the MWF World title. At Middletown Massacre 1998, Dr. Destruction called out the former champion on the Free-For-All and offered Speedo the chance to win back the MWF title provided he do things Dr. Destruction's "hardcore way" should he lose. Speedo agreed by attacking Destruction, and the two fought again in a no-rules encounter. Rocked Destruction, but when the referee pulled Speedo off of Destruction when the two were in the corner, Destruction pulled out a roll of quarters, blasted Speedo with it, then doctor-bombed him onto a steel chair for the victory. Now, Speedo was bound by his agreeing to the match to perform any service as prescribed by the Doc. On the same event, faced Rugged Ralph in a grudge match to settle the score for his costing him the MWF belt. Led to the ring for the last time (as per Dr. D) by his manager, the masked ZODIAC, Speedo took the match to Ralph. Mid-way thru the match, Rugged Ralph's second, the Mountain of Love, chased ZODIAC away from ringside. After several minutes ZODIAC apparently had gotten the better of the Mountain back in the dressing room area and returned to ringside. However, with Rugged Ralph distracting the referee, ZODIAC entered the ring and administered a Death-Valley-Driver manuever to Speedo. ZODIAC left the ring and unmasked revealing it was in fact the Mountain of Love disguised as ZODIAC. Rugged Ralph then executed his shocker-dropper bulldog to defeat Speedo for the 3-count. The two NWA cohorts then proceeded to take apart Speedo attempting to end his career, but was saved by Brett Krueger, who had also been beaten by the pair some months earlier. Was scheduled to face Bobo Bravado at MWF Independence Day 1998, but was attacked before the match by Bravado who injured Speedo's leg so that his angered brother, Dr. Destruction, would face him later on to gain revenge. Bounced back from that attack and was signed to square off against Brett Krueger in a rematch from Lunatic Fringe. Wrestled well, but eventually was pinned by the MWF's Franchise following his new finishing manuever, the flat-liner. Teamed with Destruction and Krueger in a 6-man contest to take on the NWA team of B.T. Vengeance, Mountain of Love, and Brother Fiend. Lost the match and, along with Destruction, was stomped down by Brother Fiend and the Mountain. This attack, along with many other attacks and injuries was a contributing factor for taking a respite from professional wrestling and is currently retired from the MWF.
