Greatest Match: 7/17/99 6-man tag team match (w/ The Reds) vs. Mountain of Love & The Orient Express. Following the break-up of the original Hard Corps where Rugged Ralph attacked Mountain of Love following a 6-man tag team loss, Rugged Ralph challenged Mountain of Love to a NEW 6-man tag match - a match in which neither HE nor Mountain would know in advance of who their partners would be - that to be chosen by MWF President Fred Travalenee. The Mountain of Love accepted, still stinging from Ralph's turn, and also put his MWF World title on the line offering it to ANY man on Ralph's team should he be the man defeated. Rugged Ralph teamed with the Reds against Mountain of Love and the Orient Express. The match went down and it became apparent that Rugged Ralph DID somehow have knowledge of just who his partners would be - the Reds - and managed to convince them to aid him in winning the title. After powerslamming Mountain of Love, Little Red held down the Mountain's leg from outside the ring during a Rugged Ralph pinfall attempt allowing Rugged Ralph to win the belt and become MWF World Champion.
Favorite Match : 9/6/97 vs. Fiend. Was matched against his fellow NWA member Fiend in the first round of the 1997 MWF King of the Ring tournament but neither man held anything back as they went at each other tooth-and-nail in a 1997 match of the year candidate. After giving their all, Rugged Ralph got the upper hand and executed his eradicator bulldog on Fiend thru a table from the top rope.
Toughest Opponent : Mike Awesome. Rugged Ralph regrets that he has never been able to defeat this extreme superstar ... although there is no known record ANYWHERE that Rugged Ralph ever actually wrestled him, or any major superstar from any major wrestling organization for that matter.
Most Hated Opponent : Mountain of Love. Twice he has chosen him to stand beside him in both the New World Alliance and the Hard Corps, but when their differences set them against each other, Mountain of Love becomes a very dangerous man. Mountain of Love defeated Rugged Ralph for the MWF U.S. title in 1997, and although Rugged Ralph was able to trick Mountain out of his MWF World title in 1999 after his violent split from the Hard Corps, it did not take the Mountain long to defeat Ralph again and win the title back.
| Favorite Manuever : The Eradicator. This standing bulldog is executed when Ralph grasps his opponent in a side headlock, then falls to the mat burying his opponent's face into the canvas with devastating impact. |
Scouting Report
==Strengths==
: Tough As Nails. A rugged wrestler, indeed. His name truly fits as he is able to brawl with the best and uses extremely effective high-impact manuevers such as the power-slam.
: Aggressive. Went from smiling fan favorite to bad-ass as the Vigilante, and has carried this over into his Rugged Ralph persona. Now, he mainly scowls, but no one can argue with his success inside the squared circle.
: Flying Clothesline. Though his favorite finishing manuever is the standing bull-dog formerly called the Crime-Stopper, Ralph also possesses a lethal lariat that will knock the wind out of virtually any opponent.
: Master of Mind Games. Not only does Rugged Ralph always have a well-thought-out game-plan when squaring off against an opponent, Rugged Ralph also has the irritating ability to get under the skin of all of his opponents with the use of his superior mic skills. He uses this skill well, as he has the ability to totally psyche out an opponent during a match making them prone to mistakes that often mean the difference between victory and defeat.
==Weaknesses==
: Burned Bridges. Be it New World Alliance or the Hard Corps group, Rugged Ralph cannot keep allies for very long. Has violently split with nearly every ally and every relationship he has ever fostered in the MWF. Rugged Ralph is currently one half of the MWF World tag team champions with Double-7 Chris Simmons, but Mr. Simmons must be INSANE to team with a man with the track record of Rugged Ralph.
: Lax Defense. Is now a master at breaking the rules and dishing out punishment, but stemming from his days as a rule-abiding fan favorite, has a great deal of trouble with wrestlers that "fight fire with fire" and come right back with equal aggressiveness of their own. Is so confident of his in-ring mastery, has difficulty countering attacks when put on the defensive.
: Finishing Move Over-Reliance. Ralph's standing bull-dog finisher is a devastating manuever, but if he tries to apply it to an opponent who is wary of it, the move can be easily countered. And if that happens, Ralph often tends to scramble to find an alternative.
Career Bio
Made debut at 1st MWF Wrestlemania, teaming with Bonecrusher Bob against the original Beach Crew, Steve Amaral & Tim Helmbrecht, and lost. Much was the same for other matches early in his career he was sloppy, uncoordinated, and thus unsuccessful. He decided to go to Japan for further training under the guidance of Oshikawa Nagasaki, Grand Master of the Python Ninjas. Returned to the United States as Ricky "The Python" Hollis, and although he inspired a young Japanese wrestler from Mefooyou, Japan, known as the Python Machine, he was still unsatisfied with his current gimmick. He thus took on the name Rugged Rich, and finally had found something that worked for him. After scoring some key victories, including winning the 2nd annual Royal Rumble, he became involved in a bloody feud with U.S. Champion, The Baked Warrior, a feud which eventually drove the Baked Warrior from the MWF, leaving the title vacant for quite some time.
Soon afterwards came the lowest point of his career. The "Rugged One" was called into MWF Headquarters, and was ordered to change his persona once again, into a psychotic freak called The Punisher. Having always been a fan favorite and never a rulebreaker, this transition was not easy.
After months of frustration due to this silly character, he decided to rebel against the powers that be, and became The Vigilante. This move almost cost him his contract with the MWF, but after seeing the fan reaction this new persona, they decided not to release him. Instead, The Vigilante, went on to become the #1 contender for the US Championship, and was soon awarded the belt to fill the vacant spot left by the Baked Warrior.
The Vigilante successfully defended the US Title for nearly 5 years. However, in 1996, when MWF ratings were dropping rapidly, and the federation was in fear of folding, The Vigilante met with longtime friend Bonecrusher Bob, and created a renegade organization known as the New World Alliance, inspired by the New World Order of World Championship Wrestling. Their goal would be to overrun the MWF, and to destroy all that stood in their way. But just as they were ready to begin their assault, Bonecrusher jumped ship, not believing that the idea would ever work.
But the Vigilante was still hooked on the idea, and soon recruited former World Champion Bobo Bravo to his cause. As a mockery to the MWF, they changed their names to variations of their previous identities, and became Rugged Ralph and Bobo Bravado. Backed financially by Billion Dollar Man, Fred TiBiase, the NWA burst onto the scene and wreaked havoc wherever they appeared. Some say that this act of terrorism restored new life into the MWF! TV ratings were once again sky high, attendance at house shows increased, and pay-per-view audiences around the world were soon hooked on the battles between the New World Alliance and the MWF superstars!
One of the first to stand up to the NWA was rookie sensation, "Double 7" Chris Simmons, who challenged Rugged Ralph for the US Championship. Ralph gladly accepted, seeing this as an opportunity to add another easy title defense to his record. But he should have never taken Simmons too lightly, as he suffered an upset to the newcomer and lost the belt! Rugged rebounded however, and regained the title a month later, defeating Double 7 in a Triple Death Match at BattleBowl 97.
Rugged Ralph lost his MWF U.S. title at Wrestlemania 1997 to the man who would join the New World Alliance, the Mountain of Love.
By mid-1998, Rugged Ralphs NWA had grown stronger than ever, with members almost outnumbering those of the MWF. Ralph continued to cause trouble whenever he showed his face, especially when he cost Mike Speedo the MWF World Championship, and almost cost Brett Krueger his career. But soon he began to lose control of the empire. Factions began to form, and the foundations of the Alliance began to crumble. Having felt he did all he could for the world of sports entertainment, Rugged Ralph felt that it was time to hang up the boots once and for all. He challenged his closest ally in the New World Alliance, The Mountain of Love, for a match at August Armageddon, which the Rugged One deemed to be his last match ever. At this match, however, he arrived to the ring as Rockin Rich, the name that started it all. He defeated the Mountain of Love, and then retired from professional wrestling.
His retirement only lasted 5 months, however......................
1999
With the success of the MWF over the past several months, the MWF debuted its "Saturday Slugfest" series of events. Prior to that first event, Rugged Ralph was planning his MWF comeback and behind the scenes invited reigning MWF World Champion Dr. Destruction and Mountain of Love to join a new, improved version of the New World Alliance - a new MWF faction - the HARD CORPS - it would consist of Ralph, Mountain of Love, and Destruction himself. Seeing as how Dr. Destruction was planning on giving the first title shot of 1999 to the Mountain of Love at Saturday Slugfest, the plan would be for the Hard Corps to announce their formation then, and no matter what happened, the Hard Corps would be holding the prestigious MWF World title to start off 1999. And for a bonus, the new Hard Corps would attack the Mountain's tag team partner at the time, a man hated by each Hard Corps member, Brett Krueger. So as not to draw suspicion to their plans, Rugged Ralph negotiated with MWF President Fred Travalenee to return to the MWF as Rockin' Rich. Thus, at Saturday Slugfest, Rockin' Rich did appear and defeated the Candyman in his debut match of the year. Meanwhile, although not scheduled to wrestle at the television tapings, Dr. Destruction appeared at the conclusion of the Mountain of Love-Fiend MWF U.S. title match. Dr. Destruction offered the Mountain of Love a MWF World title shot later on that very same day. Destruction was interviewed by MWF President Fred Travalenee after granting Mountain of Love the title shot and began to go on about how nobody in the MWF could ever beat him when he was interrupted by the surprise appearance of MWF legend Bonecrusher Bob!! Bonecrusher attacked Destruction and this impromtu assault became an MWF World title match. The two combatants fought all over the arena when finally, the man who had the MWF world title match with Destruction later on in the card, Mountain of Love, appeared at ringside with a garbage can lid. Mountain of Love threw it in the direction of Bonecrusher Bob, but it was caught and used by Destruction who then promptly doctor-bombed Bonecrusher to successfully defend the MWF World title. Finally, in the main event of Saturday Slugfest, Dr. Destruction was in fact pinned by Mountain of Love and lost the MWF World title in a ladder match. Following the match, the Mountain of Love's former tag team ally Brett Krueger appeared to congratulate his partner on winning the MWF World title, but was turned on by Mountain of Love who, along with Destruction, stomped down Krueger until Rockin' Rich made the save for Krueger and chased Mountain and Destruction out of the ring. But with Brett Krueger's back turned, Rockin' Rich sandbagged him with a steel chair, then invited Destruction and Mountain back into the ring where they all administered another beating to Brett Krueger. Rockin' Rich then tore of his t-shirt revealing that he was in fact Rugged Ralph who had returned. Krueger was saved by Fiend and Carnage, who appeared and chased the new Hard Corps out of the ring.
With the Mountain of Love now the MWF World Champion, it now appeared Rugged Ralph would take on the role of group spokesman and Dr. Destruction would take on the role of "enforcer" of the Hard Corps. Rugged Ralph and Destruction defeated the tag team of Fiend and Double-7 at MWF Spring Fling 1999, but also made their presence felt in the main event of that card in the 3-way MWF title match that pitted their comrade Mountain of Love against the Flock's Carnage and Brett Krueger. With Rugged Ralph distracting Brett Krueger, Dr. D hit Krueger from behind to take him out of the match. Destruction then pulled the referee out of the ring before Carnage could pin the Mountain letting the Mountain recover and hit the Death Valley Driver on an unconscious Krueger to retain the MWF title.
At Saturday Slugfest 3, Rugged Ralph teamed with Destruction to take on the Flock members Carnage and DeathMask. During the match, Carnage and DeathMask secured an advantage on Rugged Ralph. Carnage was about to throw powder into the eyes of Rugged Ralph to blind him, but Dr. Destruction managed to throw himself in front of the powder saving Rugged Ralph but being blinded himself. Grasping for one of his opponents, Dr. Destruction lunged and grabbed Rugged Ralph by mistake and doctor-bombed him allowing their opponents to pin Ralph to take the victory. Destruction and Ralph then got into an argument but peace was restored by Mountain of Love who came down before the two came to blows.
Took some personal time away from MWF events but returned for the MWF's inaugural U.K.-only pay-per-view Water Under The Bridge event in the main event 6-man tag team match involving his partners Mountain of Love & Dr. Destruction against the Flock - Fiend, Carnage, & DeathMask. The Flock had swerved the Hard Corps, however, as "DeathMask" unmasked during the match and was revealed to be the returning Bobo Bravado. At this point, the match reached its conclusion with the Flock once again coming out on top after Rugged Ralph tried blinding Carnage with powder as he had done weeks earlier to Destruction, but Rugged Ralph instead accidentally blinded the Mountain of Love. The MOL executed the Death Valley Driver on Rugged Ralph by accident, enabling the Flock to capitalize and score the victory when Bravado pinned Ralph with his patented jackhammer. Following the match, with Dr. Destruction dizzy outside the ring as the result of an injury, Rugged Ralph argued with and finally turned on Mountain of Love and hit his finisher the Eradicator on MOL and left the ring abandoning the Hard Corps.
The first goal of revenge against the Hard Corps was clearly taking the MWF World title away from the Mountain of Love. At the next MWF Saturday Slugfest 5 event, Rugged Ralph challenged the Mountain of Love to a 6-man tag team match where neither he nor Ralph would know who their partners were. So enfuriated was the MOL following Ralph's turn against the Hard Corps, the Mountain was goaded by Ralph into putting his MWF World title on the line in the bout should anyone on Ralph's team beat him. This proved the Mountain's undoing as Rugged Ralph somehow knew in advance that he would be teamed with the Reds, and convinced them to aid his beating Mountain. With the help of the Reds, specifically with each Red holding a leg of the Mountain from outside the ring, Rugged Ralph covered the Mountain and pinned him to become the NEW MWF World Champion.
At Summer Showdown 1999, the new MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph conducted his own interview boasting about defeating the Mountain of Love on the previous Saturday Slugfest 5 event. Ralph called out the men who were his 6-man tag team partners during the match in which he achieved the pinfall over Mountain of Love to capture the belt - the Reds - Big Red & Little Red. Instead of thanking the Reds for their assistance, Ralph instead sand-bagged them with a double-clothesline and also hit a double-eradicator bulldog on both men sending them severely injured back to the locker room. Ralph continued his one-man interview when he was interrupted by of all people Ralph's former New World Alliance partner Bobo Bravado. After taking credit for literally the last 3 years of the career of Bravado, Rugged Ralph was challenged for the MWF belt and attacked by Bobo. Bobo jack-hammered Ralph and left him laying and this would set up an impromptu MWF title match before the PPV - Rugged Ralph vs. Bobo Bravado for the MWF World title. Come match time, Bobo wrestled well against the MWF champ, but was eventually defeated by Rugged Ralph when Ralph caught Bravado with his finisher, the eradicator bulldog , onto the MWF World title belt.
Rugged Ralph gave the MWF U.S. Champion Carnage a MWF World title match at the MWF's first Portugal event, In Your Face 6- Los Punlados. Carnage came within an eyelash of pinning Ralph but was defeated when the former MWF World Champion Mountain of Love came down during the match and hit Carnage with a big boot from the ring apron enabling Ralph to hit his "eradicator" standing bulldog to get the win. Thus, the Mountain of Love ensured the belt would stay around the waist of Rugged Ralph so he could get his revenge when they eventually tangled once again.
At MWF Summer Showdown 1999, Fiend wrestled Rugged Ralph in a world title match. After a see-saw match-up that could have gone either way, Fiend was ultimately defeated when he attempted his "backlash" finisher, but Rugged Ralph shifted his weight in mid-move and executed his "eradicator" bulldog out of it to pin Fiend to defend the title.
At MWF IYF 8 : Countdown to Extinction, Sergeant Joe Black made an in-ring appearance and challenged anyone in the MWF to a match as he claimed that he had not faced any competition thus far in the MWF. The MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph appeared and taunted the young superstar and said he did not deserve a match with a man the caliber of the MWF World Champ. Black agreed that he was a new-comer in the MWF but that when he had paid his dues, someday he would kick the a$$ of Rugged Ralph. As Black was leaving the ring, Rugged Ralph attacked him and hit his finishing move, the eradicator bull-dog and left Black laying. In the main event, MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph was often scrambling as the determined Joe Black sought revenge for the attack earlier on and assaulted Ralph with no let-up. At one point, Ralph left the ring and started to make his way back to the dressing room, but was intercepted by the Mountain of Love, who grabbed Ralph and threw him back into the ring. Rugged Ralph managed to mount a comeback and successfully defended the MWF World title by pinning Sergeant Joe Black with his "eradicator" bulldog executed off the second rope.
Tired of the Mountain of Love haunting him, Rugged Ralph signed to team with Carnage and Double-7 Chris Simmons against the team of Mountain of Love, Fiend, and Sergeant Joe Black at the main event of MWF Superclash 99 : You Want Blood, You Got It! The match was a 6-man team elimination match, once a member of 1 team was busted open and bloodied, then that man was eliminated from the match until 1 side remained. Rugged Ralph was the first to be eliminated from the match, however, as he attempted to rake a set of metal keys across the head of Mountain of Love, the Mountain kicked the keys out of Ralph's hand, and used them on Ralph instead, bloodying him and eliminating him from the match. Finally, Double-7 Chris Simmons was left alone with Fiend, but as Double-7 attempted his top-rope swandive headbutt, Mountain of Love threw a steel chair in front of the headbutt, causing Double-7 to strike it instead of Fiend and cause him to bleed and eliminate him from the match allowing Fiend to be declared the winner. Following the prior 6-man match, Rugged Ralph returned to the ring and was enfuriated that Double-7 lost the elimination match for his team prompting Double-7 to challenge him to a MWF World title match on the spot which Rugged Ralph accepted. MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph got the better of Simmons, however, and successfully defended the MWF World title by pinning Double-7 Chris Simmons with his "eradicator" standing bulldog onto the MWF World title belt (and also placing his feet on the ropes for extra leverage). Following the match, former MWF World champ Mountain of Love ran in to attack Rugged Ralph but Ralph was saved by Double-7 Chris Simmons who together with Ralph ran off Mountain of Love. Double-7 then said to Ralph that he saved him because he wanted another crack at his title somewhere down the line. Ralph gave Simmons the "thumbs up" as he was leaving the ringside area perhaps signifying a new alliance.
Rugged Ralph never gave Double-7 a return title shot, however, as the main event signed for MWF In Your Face 9 : Eye of the Hurricane was a tag team Match - the wrestler scoring the pinfall to receive an MWF World title shot against MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph at a future MWF event - Double-7 Chris Simmons and Carnage vs. the Hard Corps - Mountain of Love & Bobo Bravado. The match ended when Mountain of Love pinned Carnage with his death valley driver to win the match and get the return title match against Rugged Ralph. Thus, the match was signed, sealed, and delivered for MWF Wrestlemania, the ultimate rematch - Rugged Ralph vs. Mountain of Love for Ralph's MWF World title.
Mountain of Love went on to face Rugged Ralph in the falls-count-anywhere main event of MWF Wrestlemania 1999. In a match that went from the ring to the MWF dressing room, to the end of Harbor View Court - Mountain of Love (w/ MWF President Dr. Destruction) pinned MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph with a Death Valley Driver on the ground to become the N-E-W MWF World Champion.
With the Hard Corps now in charge and running the federation, Rugged Ralph was forced to face Fiend at MWF Season's Beatings for the MWF U.S. title. In a match that could have gone either way, however, Fiend managed to "backlash" Rugged Ralph and handed him the defeat to close out 1999 for Rugged Ralph.
2000
At the first card of 2000 - MWF Saturday Slugfest 7 - The Orient Express members - Terry Aki, Mr. Hiamoto, Professor Hishitzu, and Takashi Budabay came to ringside to challenge any MWF tag-team and offered an open MWF tag title shot. Terry Aki made his way to the lockeroom in search of potential contenders while the other Orient Express members remained in the ring. The crack MWF Audio crew managed to pick up sounds of a backstage brawl, then suddenly the music of RUGGED RALPH sounded and Rugged Ralph made his way to the ring. Rugged Ralph had apparently taken out Terry Aki backstage and announced that HE was going to challenge the Orient Express himself. Mr. Hiamoto and Professor Hishitzu then attacked Rugged Ralph and the match was on!! The Orient Express members quickly got the upper hand on their opponent when the music of Double-7 Chris Simmons played and Double-7 made his way to the ring. Thus, Rugged Ralph & Double-7 Chris Simmons defeated the MWF World tag team champions Orient Express when Rugged Ralph pinned Professor Hishitzu following a Double-7 top-rope kamikaze headbutt to become the N-E-W MWF World Tag Team Champions. Rugged Ralph also was the special referee for the WAR GAMES main event of the card. The match was a 6-man tag team match where partners were drawn at random to compete against opponents drawn at random. By the luck of the draw, Carnage was matched with Double-7 Chris Simmons, and nemesis Fiend against the team of Dr. Destruction, MWF World Champion Mountain of Love and Sergeant Joe Black . As referee, Rugged Ralph called the match fairly until Carnage got in his face several times during the match. The end of the match came when Carnage became so enfuriated by Rugged Ralph's slow counts of his pinfall attempts, this allowed a member of Carnage's opponents - Sergeant Joe Black - to hit his finisher the TKO on Carnage and pin him to win the match. Following the match, with Carnage recovering from the manuever, Carnage's manager BLACK WIDOW confronted special referee Rugged Ralph and slapped him in the face. Rugged Ralph then locked her in his ERADICATOR standing bulldog finisher driving the Widow's head into the canvas totally laying out the Widow. Black Widow was severely injured from the attack and needed to be stretchered out of MWF arena. Despite being on the opposite team, Sgt. Joe Black was disgusted with his old foe Rugged Ralph's conduct and assisted Carnage in administering aid to the Black Widow as the event ended.
At MWF After Hours, Carnage faced Rugged Ralph in one of Rugged Ralph's specialties - the Triple Death Match. To be declared the winner of the match, you must take 3 falls - 1 by countout, 1 fall by submission, & 1 fall by pinfall. After dropping 2 straight falls to Rugged Ralph: Rugged Ralph pinned Carnage with the eradicator standing bulldog and rendered Carnage unconscious with a sleeperhold to take a submission, Carnage came back and forced Rugged Ralph to submit to the tarantula, caused Rugged Ralph to be counted out, and finally pinned Rugged Ralph with the superfly splash from the top rope. But before Carnage had the opportunity to extract further revenge for the injuring of his wife the Black Widow, following the match, Black Widow turned on Carnage striking him with a steel chair. Fiend then appeared at ringside and back-lashed Carnage setting him up for a superfly splash executed by the BLACK WIDOW! Black Widow then taunted Carnage claiming that he did not have the ability to protect her (stemming from Rugged Ralph injuring her at Wargames) so she obtained the services of Fiend.
Forgetting about Carnage, Rugged Ralph now concentrated on defending the MWF tag team titles with his partner Double-7 Chris Simmons. At MWF Spring Fling 2000 - April 29, 2000, defeated former tag champs Gynecologist Gabe & Slick Caddy in an impressive match of the year candidate. But their streak ran out at MWF In Your Face 11 - Mission Impossible - May 20th, 2000 as the Boyz in da Hood 2Pac Notsure & Jim Dirty defeated the MWF World Tag Team Champions Rugged Ralph & Double-7 Chris Simmons in a Street Fight match. During the course of the weapons match, Double-7 inadvertantly struck Rugged Ralph with a garbage can lid when 2Pac Notsure ducked the attack. Incensed, Rugged Ralph turned on his partner and aided the Boyz in da Hood in pinning Double-7 following a Rugged Ralph eradicator bulldog on a steel chair.
Unfortunately for Ralph, at MWF In Your Face 11 : Mission Impossible - May 20th, 2000 Double-7 Chris Simmons gained revenge for Ralph's turn and defeated him in a Ladder Match when Double-7 hit 2 consecutive kamikaze headbutts (leap-frogging over ladders in each corner) to pin Rugged Ralph for the 1-2-3. Following the match, longtime Rugged Ralph rival Brett Krueger came down for his scheduled match and taunted Rugged Ralph who was still at ringside suffering from the effects of the ladder match. When Krueger turned his back on Rugged Ralph, Rugged Ralph threw a ladder hitting Krueger in the back. Rugged Ralph then threw Krueger in the ring and continued the beatdown culminating in a Rugged Ralph eradicator bulldog. Rugged Ralph left Krueger laying and Brett had to be helped to the back by MWF officials.
At MWF Independence Day 2000 - June 19th, 2000, was chosen to be Mr. Black's dream partner in a tag team match, but was defeated by MWF World Champion Mountain of Love & Fiend when Mountain of Love pinned Joe Black with the death valley driver. Following the match, Brett Krueger ran in and attacked Rugged Ralph to gain revenge for Rugged Ralph attacking him at the last MWF event. Brett Krueger repeatedly rammed a fork into the right eye of Rugged Ralph.
Before the scheduled Brett Krueger - Rugged Ralph match at MWF Summer Showdown 2000 - July 22th, 2000, Brett Krueger challenged Rugged Ralph on the spot to make this match between them a RETIREMENT match - a challenge Rugged Ralph accepted. Rugged Ralph pinned Brett Krueger with an eradicator standing bulldog. According to the stipulation of the match, Brett Krueger was forced to retire. But since Rugged Ralph had given him a great match, Brett Krueger offered his hand to the victorious Ralph after the match. Rugged Ralph pulled his hand away and belittled Krueger and left the ringside area.
With Krueger apparently out of his hair forever, before the start of MWF BattleBowl 2000, Bobo Bravado arrived at MWF arena and was greeted Rugged Ralph who shook Bobo's hand to welcome him back to the MWF. Unfortunately for Bravado, this was a sneak attack as Rugged Ralph sandbagged him with a steel chair and beat Bravado down severely. Rugged Ralph beat Bobo down all the while singing the theme song to the old 70's hit sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. But once again the evil of Ralph did not prosper as Bobo Bravado (from Canada) & El Fuego defeated Rugged Ralph (who before his match degraded all Canadians) & C.I.A. when El Fuego pinned C.I.A. with a flying bodypress as Bobo and Rugged Ralph brawled outside the ring. But although eliminated from the battle royal to decide the new Hardcore Champion, Rugged Ralph pulled off the impossible! Terry Aki won the MWF Hardcore Battle Royal last eliminating the Jock. But following the match, Terry Aki unmasked and revealed he was in fact RUGGED RALPH (who had been eliminated earler in tag team action) and became the N-E-W MWF Hardcore Champion! But during BattleBowl, a man who had the same body type as the retired Brett Krueger made his MWF debut - the White Snake - and this would mean unbelivable problems for Ralph in the weeks to come!!
At MWF In Your Face 13 : Breaking the Chains - August 26, 2000, the REAL Terry Aki & El Fuego confronted MWF Hardcore Champion Rugged Ralph and each man demanded a MWF Hardcore title shot against him. El Fuego for being injured at the hands of Rugged Ralph during the BattleBowl tag team match making him unable to go on to the MWF Hardcore battle royal, and the masked Terry Aki for being attacked by Ralph and whose place Rugged Ralph took to enter himself in BattleBowl. MWF owner Joseph T. Joseph orderd Rugged Ralph to defend the title against BOTH men in a 3-way dance. But Ralph was equal to the task as Rugged Ralph successfully defended the MWF Hardcore title by defeating Terry Aki & El Fuego in a 3-way dance by pinning Terry Aki with the eradicator standing bulldog. Also, before the scheduled tag team main event, MWF Hardcore Champion Rugged Ralph appeared and accused the masked White Snake of being the man that he retired at MWF Summer Showdown 2000 - Brett Krueger. White Snake denied being Brett Krueger, but when the White Snake made disparaging remarks about Rugged Ralph's eye (which was the target of a Brett Krueger fork attack weeks earlier), Rugged Ralph was convinced that White Snake was Brett Krueger. He then offered a $100,000 bounty to any man who could unmask White Snake and prove he was Brett Krueger.
At MWF Lunatic Fringe 2000 - October 21, 2000, White Snake (w/Tawny) pinned Ares following a tamikaze facecrusher. Following the match, Rugged Ralph challenged the White Snake to a match on the spot. If White Snake won, Rugged Ralph would cease the bounty that he placed on White Snake's mask. White Snake pinned Rugged Ralph following an implant DDT. Following the match, Rugged Ralph attacked White Snake with the briefcase containing the $100,000 bounty, then unmasked him revealing that White Snake was in fact Brett Krueger. Following White Snake's unmasking, Tawny DDT'ed Brett Krueger seemingly surprised that White Snake was Brett Krueger. Ecstatic from revealing White Snake as Krueger, Rugged Ralph took on the challenge of Fiend in a falls-count-anywhere MWF Hardcore Title match that started in a boilerroom. Rugged Ralph's luck ran out though as Fiend pinned MWF Hardcore Champion Rugged Ralph outside MWF arena with a backlash back suplex/sidewalk slam on a steel chair to become the N-E-W MWF Hardcore Champion.
At MWF Harborview Havoc - November 4, 2000, Rugged Ralph appeared during the event and cut a promo responding to Brett Krueger - a man that he had been feuding with. During the promo, Rugged Ralph called out a young man jeering him in the audience. He asked the man who he came to see wrestle and the young man said that he came to see his brother wrestle....and that his brother was in fact Mr. Black. Rugged Ralph attacked the fan and executed his eradicator short bulldog on him prompting the manager of Mr. Black - Trinity to come down to assist him. Rugged Ralph then threatened Trinity and Mr. Black came down to protect her. Mr. Black (w/ Trinity, MWF U.S. Champion Mountain of Love, and Black's brother) pinned Rugged Ralph with the black attack inverted stunner following a death valley driver from Black's mentor Mountain of Love.
These setbacks aside, Rugged Ralph looks onward to the FINAL CONFRONTATION between himself and Brett Krueger........at MWF NEW YEAR'S EVIL!!!!!
2001
At MWF New Year's Evil .....the feud between Rugged Ralph and Brett Krueger finally came to an end as Rugged Ralph pinned Brett Krueger following an excellent wrestling encounter following his eradicator standing bulldog finisher. But following the match, Rugged Ralph offered his handshake to Brett Krueger but as Krueger was about to shake his hand, Rugged Ralph gave him the #1 sign. Krueger then superkicked Rugged Ralph, got a table, then gave Ralph the eradicator off the top rope driving Rugged Ralph thru the table leaving Rugged Ralph laying.
Rugged Ralph is now currently retired from MWF competition.
