Be it popularity or just sympathy for the ultimate underdog, Chester Travalenee, the MWF fans constantly found themselves cheering for the lad even though in all cases, the MWF President's nerdy nephew didn't have a prayer against ANY opponent.

Chester Travalenee defies the odds and even though possessing no wrestling ability, no coordination, and no respect by any other MWF wrestler, he still finds himself cheered for in his usually 1-sided matches. Perhaps Chester Travalenee's only asset is the ability to run away from his opponent with lightning speed.  Chester's popularity among MWF fans truly embodies the desire for people to root for the underdog - the man that has no chance. Anything can happen in the MWF!

Big Kahuna was ready to go for the MWF tag team titles with the Menace, but the Menace walked out on him forcing him to find another partner - Beach Blanket Bobby - and in doing so formed a hugely popular tag team - the Beach Crew with their manager Amazing Grace by their surfin' side.

The Menace walked out on the Kahuna in the MWF tag tournament leaving him with no partner.  With the aid and advice of his manager Amazing Grace, they picked a man from Kahuna's past - Beach Blanket Bobby!  Together, they continued on in the tournament and WON!  Now together as the Beach Crew, Kahuna & Bobby w/Grace set the MWF on fire with their free spirit approach to life and whenever they defended their titles, it was a rockin' good time for them as well as the MWF fans who cheered them on to victory!

As a member of Rugged Ralph's New World Alliance, Mountain of Love became the most hated wrestler of the year just 1 year after being voted the MWF's Most Popular Wrestler in 1997.

Mountain of Love turned to the darkside late in 1997 joining Rugged Ralph in the Rugged One's New World Alliance group.  The votes for the 1997 awards were already in at the time and they voted the 1997 King of the Ring winner Mountain 1997's Most Popular Wresler of the Year.  The Mountain laughs at the MWF fan's awards as he continued his evil ways thruout 1998.  The MWF fans can now always find ways to hate the Mountain of Love.  Mountain of Love nearly broke the neck of Dr. Destruction and along with Rugged Ralph nearly ended the career of Brett Krueger in addition to interfering in scores of matches thruout 1998 to constantly earn the fans contempt.

Amazing Grace dumped Reverend Rodney Righteous for the dreamy Big Kahuna, and as a manager, paired Kahuna with Beach Blanket Bobby to win the MWF tag team belts!!!!

The man called Carnage made his MWF debut in August of 1998 and has thus far set the MWF on fire with his "hardcore aerialist" style.  Carnage joined Fiend in Fiend's Flock and has become his vital right-hand man as they wage war on Fiend's MWF rivals.

Carnage made his MWF debut at MWF August Armageddon defeating the veteran Private Parts with his devastating superfly splash.  Carnage quickly caught the eye of Fiend who had recently soured on being a New World Alliance member and together they formed Fiend's Flock along with C.I.A. and DeathMask.  Carnage and Fiend wreaked sheer havoc on the MWF getting in the faces of Double-7 Chris Simmons, Brett Krueger, and reigning MWF World Champion Dr. Destruction.  Carnage accepted the open contract for Dr. Destruction's MWF World title defense and with the aid of Fiend, came within an eyelash of defeating the champion at MWF In Your Face 3 : Revolution Calling.  So as 1998 ended, he succeeded in nearly winning the MWF World title from Dr. D and also took MWF U.S. Champion Double-7 Chris Simmons to the limit at MWF Wrestlemania 1998.

MWF fans can expect a bright future for Carnage!!!

Brett Krueger gives the "thumbs up" to his fans finally at peace with himself and the fans reciprocated recognizing that after months of turmoil, Brett Krueger set his sights on doing the best he could in the MWF.

Brett Krueger began 1998 obsessed with becoming MWF World champion.  When Mike Speedo defeated him to defend his MWF World title in April, Rugged Ralph and Mountain of Love took the opportunity to offer Krueger at the lowest point in his career membership in their New World Alliance.  Krueger, devastated from the loss and an emotional wreck, accepted.  But the NWA's offer was merely a facade, as they attacked him and completely humiliated him.  But that served as a wake-up call and Brett Krueger identified what was important to him and got back on track and started fighting the good fight once again.  His next battles were not for titles, now they were from the heart as he waged war against Rugged Ralph, Mountain of Love, Fiend and the Flock.  Krueger got back to his roots and recaptured his former fire and stepped up his game earning him Most Improved Wrestler for 1998.

Big Kahuna became the very first MWF A.I.R. Champion by winning a battle royal in April, then teamed with Beach Blanket Bobby in August to capture the MWF World tag titles.

The Big Kahuna had a great 1998.  Kahuna managed to outlast 8 other competitors and eliminate Choppah Harley in a battle royal to win the newly created MWF Aquidneck Island Regional title.  He did not celebrate long with his new-found gold belt, however, as he was the victim of the Reverend Rodney Righteous and his interfering valet Amazing Grace who together managed to take the Kahuna's title.  But this led to a turning point for the Kahuna as he managed to convince Grace to manage him instead winning the feud against the Rev.  With Grace by his side, he teamed with the Menace as a team going for the MWF tag titles in the MWF tag tournament , but when the Menace realized he wanted no part of the Kahuna, a former bitter rival, Kahuna was left alone.  But it was Grace that found for him the perfect replacement partner- Beach Blanket Bobby.  Kahuna was allowed to continue on in the tourney with Bobby as his partner and together the pair went all the way to win the MWF World Tag Team title.

Mountain of Love clotheslines Dr. Destruction over the top rope during their MWF Wrestlemania Stretcher Match - the brutal culmination of their year-long feud.

At the start of 1998, Dr. Destruction took on the New World Alliance's new recruit Mountain of Love at MWF Spring Fling for Mountain's MWF U.S. title.  The Mountain managed to keep the title by hitting his finisher - the Death Valley Driver - on Destruction onto a steel ladder that Dr. D had brought into the ring - severely injuring the neck of Dr. D.  Destruction vowed revenge against the MOL and thus began their feud.  Along the way, Dr. Destruction defeated Mike Speedo for the MWF World title to become the MWF Champion and his subsequent encounters with the Mountain of Love became MWF World title matches.  Dr. Destruction managed to fend off the MOL's challenge in several 3-way dances until finally the Mountain of Love faced Dr. Destruction 1-on-1 in what was to be the grand finale of their feud - a stretcher match at MWF Wrestlemania.  As the match's name might imply, this was a fight to the finish with the only way to win was to have your opponent carted off on a stretcher to the lockerroom.  Both men pulled out all the stops to finish off the other, but when all was said and done, Dr. Destruction managed to get the win shortly after breaking the nose of Mountain.  But despite Dr. Destruction's victory here, Mountain of Love rebounded the following event defeating Double-7 for the MWF U.S. title to once again become Dr. Destruction's #1 contender, thus some form of continuation of their feud seems certain in 1999.

Fiend lays in a series of roundhouse kicks to MWF U.S. Champion Double-7 Chris Simmons during their hard-fought June match-up.

Double-7 engaged in a classic struggle with Fiend at MWF Middletown Massacre 3 1998. The bout was for Simmons' MWF U.S. title, and the champion put up the fight of his life to keep the belt around his waist. The match itself was the age-old David vs. Goliath battle ; the lightning-quick aerialist Double-7 against the irresistible power arsenal of the much-larger Fiend. The advantage switched back and forth between the two stars for nearly 20 minutes of outstanding action.  In the end, Double-7 secured a slightly tainted victory due to interference from Fiend's NWA enemy B.T. Vengeance.  With the referee unconscious, BTV entered the ring and boss-slammed Fiend onto a steel chair.   Double-7 covered and took the win but the interference could not mar the fact that both men wrestled their hearts out in a very memorable match-up.

Dr. Destruction won the MWF World title in April and managed to hold on to it for the remainder of 1998 despite intense MWF competition.

Dr. Destruction began 1998 at Spring Fling being on the receiving end of a Mountain of Love Death Valley Driver executed onto a metal ladder forcing him to wear a neck-brace for several weeks.  Despite this, still wrestled in the main event of that card as well as the next two MWF events seemingly fueled by his desire for revenge against the Mountain of Love and his New World Alliance partners.  Defeated Double-7 at MWF Lunatic Fringe to earn the #1 contender spot for the MWF World title, a title now held by Destruction's brother Mike Speedo.  Finally, his neck was fully recovered when he squared off against Speedo at MWF BattleBowl 1998.  Managed to defeat Speedo at that event and claim the MWF World title belt as is own.  Once MWF World Champion, Destruction embarked upon a rigorous title defense schedule wrestling in all manner of matches - weapons matches, 3-way dances, and stretcher matches defending the gold against MWF newcomers and veterans alike.  Once Destruction finished out the year, a goal of Dr. D's was realized - no superstar was able to say that he did not get a shot at Destruction's MWF world title belt.
