Rugged Ralph retired in August of 1998, but made his return to the MWF in 1999 as a member of the Hard Corp, turned on the Hard Corps, and defeated Mountain of Love for the MWF World title in July.
At the close of 1998, Rugged Ralph was happily retired his last match having been at MWF August Armageddon 1998 against his former New World Alliance partner Mountain of Love. But the Rugged One came back with a vengeance in 1999 forming the Hard Corps with Mountain and Dr. Destruction in March. The Hard Corps wreaked havoc on the MWF keeping the belt securely around the waist of Mountain of Love....UNTIL.....Rugged Ralph turned on the very group he helped found and became the man to defeat Mountain of Love for the MWF World title. Of the events to transpire in 1999, one would have to agree that Rugged Ralph's presence profoundly influenced many key events that happened in 1999. |

Once Beach Blanket Bobby got himself away from Big Kahuna and Amazing Grace, Triple B won the MWF World TV title from Meankind in June, giving his legions of Beach Combers yet another reason to cheer him on to victory.
Beach Blanket Bobby started the year as one half of the MWF World tag team champions alongside the Big Kahuna and manager Amazing Grace. The duo lost the tag titles in April and each man blamed the other for the loss. A feud ensued which continues to this day. Triple B never lost the support of the fans, and was able to move up the ladder in the MWF and defeat Meankind for the MWF TV title in June. |

With a little help from The Reds, Rugged Ralph was successful in dethroning the Mountain of Love in July for the MWF World title belt. But in doing so, he also solidified his standing as the MWF's Most Hated Wrestler of the Year.
Normally, this would not be an award to take pride in, but Rugged Ralph's hatred of the MWF fans allows him to take GREAT pride in the award, indeed. Rugged Ralph formed the Hard Corps with Mountain of Love and Dr. Destruction earlier in the year, but ended up turning on them and taking away the Mountain's MWF World title. Rugged Ralph enfuriated the Hard Corps when he did not give the Mountain of Love a rematch for the title. Instead, he embarked upon an ambitious title reign although that included belittling the MWF World belt itself as well as his challengers including Bobo Bravado and Sergeant Joe Black. Rugged Ralph uses this hatred well, as he has the ability to totally psyche out an opponent during a match making them prone to mistakes that often meant the difference between victory and defeat. |

Sergeant Joe Black gives MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph his finisher "Police Brutality" and a run for his money in their August encounter.
Sergeant Joe Black blazed into the MWF in 1999 with 1 goal - to make an impact. And make an impact he did as no man was able to intimidate him. After facing some of the federation's top talent, including nearly defeating MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph, the Sarge managed to defeat Andre Agony for the MWF A.I.R. title in September. Joe Black was the man chosen by MWF President Fred Travalenee to represent him when the office of president was sought after by Dr. Destruction. Black nearly came close to defeating Dr. Destruction's man Mr. D several times in the match before finally going down in defeat to Mr. D who unmasked and revealed that he was in fact Dr. Destruction. But with the Sarge's willingness to face the toughest competition around, there is no doubt he will continue to be a force in 2000 and beyond!! Ladies and gentlemen....MEET JOE BLACK!!! |

When the original Orient Express - Mr. Hiamoto & Masa Sushi - recognized thruout the MWF lockerroom as one of the finest tag combos in the MWF, were unable to take the MWF's tag team titles in 1998, Mr. Hiamoto enlisted the aid of his other Japanese countrymen in an all-out assault on the titles in 1999. Terry Aki and Takashi Budabay managed to finally defeat Beach Crew in April to win the MWF tag belts. The crafty Orients then embarked on a tag title defense campaign that allowed ANY Orient Express combination to defend the titles. Add this factor to their unpredictable "hit-them-from-all-directions" wrestling style, as well as some of the most devastating tag team double-team finishers in the history of the MWF, and you have the recipe for dominance. The Orients reigned over the tag team ranks until finally being beaten by the Flock's C.I.A. and DeathMask in July. They stayed in contention, however, and when the titles made their way into the hands of the Crib - Lucius Wiggah & Blanta, the Orients once again struck and regained the belts to become 2-time titleholders at MWF Wrestlemania 1999 in October. |
