(w/ Rugged Ralph) March 18, 2000 - May 20, 2000 (defeated The Orient
Express - Mr. Hiamoto & Professor Hishitzu)
Greatest Match: 5/30/98 vs. Mountain of Love. Defeated the Mountain
of Love at Battlebowl 1998 to win his second MWF U.S. title. Although Simmons
had previously gotten a taste of wearing MWF gold by defeating Rugged Ralph
in 1997, that reign was quickly squashed by Ralph as he rebounded to regain
the belt the following month. This match, however, firmly established Simmons
as championship-caliber as he cleanly defeated the Mountain of Love in a
tremendous wrestling encounter, and went on to hold the title defending it
against all comers for a more lengthy reign as champion.
Favorite Match: 6/20/98 vs. Fiend. Voted 1998's MWF Match of the Year,
Double-7 engaged in a classic struggle with (Brother) Fiend at MWF Middletown
Massacre 3 1998. The bout was for Simmons' MWF U.S. title, and the champion
put up the fight of his life to keep the belt around his waist. The match
itself was the age-old David vs. Goliath battle ; the lightning-quick aerialist
Double-7 against the irresistible power arsenal of the much-larger Fiend.
In the end, Double-7 secured a slightly tainted victory due to interference
from B.T. Vengeance, but that could not mar the fact that Double-7 wrestled
his heart out in a very memorable match-up to retain the U.S. belt.
Toughest Opponent: Dr. Destruction. After obtaining a victory against
Prince Rocky Iaukea in his debut match, attacked, then challenged the veteran
Dr. Destruction to a match that same day after the Doc's unsuccessful bid
for the MWF World title at Middletown Massacre '97. As a result, suffered
his first MWF loss at Dr. D's hands and that has apparently affected him
greatly. The 2 met again in a match at Lunatic Fringe 1998 to determine the
#1 contender for the world belt to meet Mike Speedo but was again repulsed
by Destruction. After obtaining the U.S. title from Mountain of Love, again
was beaten by world champion Dr. D in a world title bout. Thus far, Dr.
Destruction has been the man to keep the MWF title from Double-7 time after
time, the belt that Double-7 has wanted from Day 1 in the federation.
Most Hated Opponent: Mountain of Love. Since their first encounter
in the 1997 MWF King of the Ring tournament, Double-7 has always harbored
a dislike for the Mountain of Love - especially since Mountain of Love advanced
in the tourney and won it. This dislike then turned to abject hatred
when the Mountain of Love threw in with Rugged Ralph and his New World Alliance
group. Battled Mountain of Love for months defeating him for his MWF
United States title in early 1998 only to have the Mountain regain the belt
at the final event of 1998 MWF Season's Beatings. Their intense rivalry
may only come to an end if one has been forever driven from the MWF.
| Favorite Manuever: "Double-7 Death Drop". The D-7 death-drop is an inverted DDT that brings the back of the opponent's head crashing down to the mat with the force of a tornado. Double-7 uses this feared manuever with great precision as Double-7 and the crowd know that the match is nearly always over when he hits it. |
Scouting Report
==Strengths==
: Excellence of Execution. From start of match
to end of match, Double-7 executes manuevers with classic crispness and
skill.
: Aerial Repertoire Depth. From leg-drops to dropkicks to kamikaze
headbutts, Double-7 possesses a tremendous aerial offensive arsenal that
often dazzles fans and confounds opponents.
: Endurance. Possibly the most well-conditioned athlete in the MWF
today. Wrestles as though he were a young man of 16, and can outlast nearly
any opponent.
: Resiliency. Despite his smallish size, can and has bounced back
from the most terrible of beatings.
: Well-rounded. An impressive wrestling package. Matches up well with
virtually any opponent.
==Weaknesses==
: Ego. Although unmistakably a talented MWF competitor, Double-7 but
must realize that team- players are in great demand in the MWF. Since day
1 in the federation, has felt that he belonged on the upper wrung of the
MWF ladder, and was willing to challenge the veterans for their place that
they had long worked for. Talent and skill are important, but so is personal
sacrifice. And for one to pay their dues, sacrifice is vital.
: Telegraphs Finisher. In his attempts to play to the crowd, Double-7
has a habit of telegraphing his feared Double-7 Deathdrop. When this happens,
opponents know its coming and can more easily counter it.
: Lone-wolf. Generally goes it alone in the federation and attempts
to play the classic hero. More often than not, however, without alliances,
loners are quite apt to become targets.
: Poor winner. Since his pro debut in the MWF, has won a great many
of his matches and is quick to boast to those in the lockerroom. Those same
men he is likely to face inside the squared circle at a future
event.
Career Bio
1997
Double-7 Chris Simmons first debuted at the 1997 MWF Middletown Massacre 2 event. Pinned Prince Rocky Iakaea in his debut singles match securing the victory with what would become his trademark finisher, the Double-7 death-drop. Later that same event, came out to interrupt an interview conducted by Fred Travalenee with the man who had just been defeated in a MWF World title match, Dr. Destruction. After words were exchanged between the 2, Double-7 blind-sided the Doc with a metal tray and challenged Dr. D to a match. Dr. Destruction accepted and put his spot in the upcoming 4-way dance for the MWF World title up for grabs should D-7 beat him. Was defeated by the more experienced Dr. Destruction but put forth a tremendous showing.
At Summer Showdown 1997, accepted an open challenge from Mike Speedo for a falls-count-anywhere Respect match after Speedo's originally slated opponent Bobo Bravado no-showed the event. As Simmons was headed down for the match, however, the reigning MWF World Champion Brother Friend pearl-harbored Simmons from behind with a cookie sheet knocking Double-7 unconscious taking his place in the match against Speedo and putting the MWF belt on the line. Double-7 looked on in shock from the dressing room as Speedo pinned Brother Friend to win the title. This event put the entire card in disarray as Brother Friend was slated to defend the MWF title against Rugged Ralph, Brett Krueger, and Dr. Destruction in the 4-way elimination dance main event. Scrambling to appease the MWF's fans, MWF President Fred Travalenee ordered Simmons to replace Brother Friend in the match and it became the match to determine a new #1 contender for the MWF championship to take on Mike Speedo at the following card. Simmons impressed all by surviving til the very end after pinning and eliminating Dr. Destruction following use of a foreign object on Destruction by Rugged Ralph. Down to the final 2, Simmons against the Franchise Brett Krueger, Double-7 fought gamely but was small-packaged and pinned by Krueger.
Having outlasted the reigning U.S. champion in the match, Double-7 was granted a U.S. title match the following card at Independence Day '97. Shocked the MWF by pinning Ralph for his first U.S. title in part due to mistimed interference from Rugged Ralph's NWA associate Bobo Bravado during the match. Just before their scheduled rematch at the BattleBowl 1997 event, Double-7 was actually teamed with Rugged Ralph in the random drawing facing the team of Bobo Bravado and the Big Kahuna. Managed to co-exist with Ralph long enough to be put into a position to pin the Kahuna to win the match. Went on in the same card to defend the U.S. title in a match of Rugged Ralph's design, the Triple-Threat Match. This was a battle of attrition where the winner of the match would successfully win 3 falls of the encounter - 1 fall by submission, 1 fall by pinfall, and 1 fall by countout. After losing to Ralph via submission to a torture-rack, and a Bobo Bravado -assisted count-out, managed to come back and make Rugged Ralph submit with a figure-4 leglock for 1 fall and Double-7 death-drop him outside the ring for a count-out win before being beaten by Ralph with Ralph's feared crime-stopper bulldog for the pinfall and the loss of the U.S. title.
Drew the Mountain of Molten Lust's name for the 1997 King of the Ring tourney and wrestled him in a 1997 match of the year candidate but was disqualified for using his wrestling boot on the Mountain and eliminated from the tourney.
Put his differences aside with the Franchis Brett Krueger and joined Krueger's F.U.C.K.T. organization along with Krueger's manager, the Baron, Lovable brother Owen Krueger, C.I.A., F.B.I. and The Bodyguard. Was scheduled to face the NWA's Bobo Bravado in a singles match at WrestleMania 1997, but prior to the match, Bravado challenged the MWF's Franchise Brett Krueger and Buford T. Justice to make the match a 4-way dance. This back-fired on Bravado, however, as the MWF contingent worked as a team to deliver a beating to the federation traitor. With Double-7 distracted during the match at various points, Bravado somehow managed to pin both Krueger and Justice to make it 1 on 1 with Double-7. Double-7 successfully overcame the weary Bravado, however, and pinned him to take the victory. Later on the same card, and putting aside his differences with Dr. D in a show of MWF unity, lent his moral support for Team MWF as Dr. Destruction and the Coalition defeated the New World Alliance's Bravado, Fiend, and Rugged Ralph in the main event 6-man match to close out 1997.
1998
Double-7 started out 1998 in impressive fashion at the 1998 Spring Fling event by defeating Mike Speedo in a "rain check" of their falls-count anywhere 2-out-of-3 falls respect match they had originally been scheduled for in '97 before being laid out by Brother Friend. Dropped the first fall of the match to Speedo via Speedo frog-splash, but rebounded pinning Speedo with the Double-7 death-drop in the second fall and reversing a sunset-flip attempt to take the final fall to win the match. Following the match, the enigmatic astrologist ZODIAC appeared and apparently accepted both Speedo and Double-7 into his organization. Thus, both men went on to wrestle in the unique 9-man Elimination Confrontation match to determine a new MWF world champion due to the forfeiture of the belt by Speedo in 1997. Outlasted Juicer Jeremy, Rugged Ralph, Brett Krueger, Dr. Destruction, and Mountain of Lust before being pinned and eliminated by a Bobo Bravado jack-hammer.
Renewed enmity with Dr. Destruction at Lunatic Fringe 1998 as they fought to determine who would get the next MWF world title shot at the Elimination Confrontation winner, Mike Speedo. In a memorable encounter, eventually was pinned by Dr. Destruction following a misplaced Mountain of Love chair-shot intended for Destruction. The 2 MWF stalwarts reconciled after the match in a display of good sportsmanship. Dr. Destruction asked for Double-7's assistance in securing a receipt that he owed to the reigning U.S. champion Mountain of Love for injuring Destruction's neck at Spring Fling, thus agreed to team with him against Mountain and Brother Fiend at the inaugural In Your Face '98 event. Turned on his partner, Destruction, however, when Dr. D had an opportunity to cover the Mountain. Double-7 leg-dropped a chair onto the head of Destruction during a pin attempt, and successfully won the match by pinning the Mountain and becoming the #1 contender for the U.S. title. This time, however, there was no sportsmanship following the match, as Dr. Destruction proceeded to brutally assault his partner, doctor-bomb him, and leave him laying for costing him his revenge against the Mountain.
An impending feud between the two however, was put on hold as both men managed to successfully defeat their champion opponents at BattleBowl 1998, Destruction pinning Mike Speedo to become the MWF World Champion, and Double-7 making good on his claim for the U.S. title held by the Mountain of Love. With this match, Double-7 cemented forever his position as legitimate MWF main-eventer superstar by defeating Mountain in a classic match to win the U.S. title following a Double-7 death-drop.
Embarked on an ambitious title-reign pinning Brother Fiend in his first successful title defense at Middletown Massacre 3 1998 in what was voted the MWF's Match of the Year for 1998. Suffered an ankle-injury and was sidelined for 2 months but returned at MWF Summer Showdown 1998 and defeated Reverend Rodney Righteous to successfully defend his U.S. title.
At MWF In Your Face 3 : Revolution Calling faced a stern challenge from the former title-holder the Mountain of Love and the man now calling himself simply Fiend in a 3-way dance for the U.S. title. Frustrated with his inability to put away the dynamic Double-7, Fiend walked out on the match, leaving Double-7 to get the upper hand on the former U.S. champion Mountain and pin him to successfully defend the title.
Received a world title shot at old nemesis, Dr. Destruction at MWF In Your Face 4 : Heart of Darkness. Several times had excellent chances to put away Dr D to win the belt, but ultimately, was the victim of interference from Dr. Destruction's scheduled Wrestlemania opponent, the Mountain of Love who interfered to ensure the title would still be on the line for his own shot come Wrestlemania. Interference from the Mountain combined with a Destruction doctor-bomb onto a ladder was enough to temporarily squash Double-7's hopes for world title gold.
At Wrestlemania 1998, in a battle of MWF newcomers, Double-7 outlasted and pinned Carnage of Fiend's Flock but not before Carnage actually managed to kick out of Simmons finisher, the Double-7 death-drop to give Simmons quite a scare and run for his money.
Finally, faced the former title-holder Mountain of Love at Season's Beating's 1998, but this time, the Mountain prevailed by administering his finisher, the death-valley driver, from the top rope and defeating Double-7 Chris Simmons for the U.S. belt in a devastating loss to close out 1998. However, now not bound with the U.S. title defenses, it seems a sure bet that Double-7 will make a run for the MWF title still held at the time by old Simmons foe, Dr. Destruction. Whether Double-7 can rebound from the loss of the U.S. belt and win the big prize in 1999 remains to be seen.
1999
Double-7 started off 1999 becoming embroiled in the war against the Hard Corps. The man who had defeated Double-7 for the U.S. title at the end of 1998, the Mountain of Love, had been successful at winning the MWF World title from Dr. Destruction and joining Destruction and Rugged Ralph to form the new version of the NWA, the Hard Corps. Simmons reluctantly teamed with old rival Fiend at MWF Spring Fling 1999 to take on the Hard Corps combination of Dr. Destruction and Rugged Ralph. In an effort to control the majority of the match, Double-7 was eventually overcome by the effective teamwork of Dr. Destruction & Rugged Ralph. Watching from the ring apron as Destruction and Rugged Ralph double-teamed Double-7, Fiend eventually was tagged in. Fiend dominated Dr. Destruction, but when Fiend tagged Double-7 back in, the Hard Corps immediately took back control of the match prompting Fiend to actually leave the match in complete disgust. Double-7 fought valiantly for a long period after Fiend's departure, but was eventually doctor-bombed thru a table outside the ring by Destruction, then eradicated inside the ring by Rugged Ralph and pinned to lose the match.
Angered by Fiend's abandoning him in the match, Double-7 nevertheless teamed with Fiend's Flock partner Carnage and enemy Brett Krueger at Saturday Slugfest 2 in a 6-man match against the Hard Corps combo of Destruction, Mountain of Love, and their partner for the moment, a masked man named 'Mr. Hardcore'. This time, Simmons and his team were successful when Brett Krueger scored the pinfall on the Mountain of Love to earn an MWF World title shot.
At Saturday Slugfest 3, Double-7 may have been upset at Krueger taking that match and garnering shots at the Mountain of Love's MWF World title. Simmons teamed with Krueger when Krueger sought Simmon's aid against Fiend, whom he had just defeated in an earlier match to win Fiend's U.S. title, and Fiend's partner Carnage in a tag team match. Double-7 and Brett Krueger had the Flock on the ropes until the climax of the match when Double-7 turned on his partner Krueger by nailing him with the double-7 deathdrop allowing Fiend the opportunity to "backlash" Krueger to win the match.
With all other challengers now out of the picture, at Saturday Slugfest 4, the next challenger on the horizon for the Mountain of Love became Double-7 Chris Simmons were he to be victorious in a #1 contender match against Dr. Destruction. In one of the most violent encounters of the year, Double-7 was the victim of Dr. Destruction's top-rope elbow smash as Destruction had laid a chair across his face to add to the impact. The force of the blow deeply lacerated the mouth of Double-7, but he valiantly continued the match. Seeing his opponent bloodied, Dr. Destruction attempted to permanently end the career of Simmons. He placed Simmons in a seated position on the top rope, then with steel chair in hand, he ran from the opposite corner with the intention of bashing him in the skull and making him fall off the top rope to perhaps certain doom, but Simmons managed to savate kick the chair into the head of Destruction which he followed up with his Double-7 deathdrop to win the match! But MWF officials would not give Double-7 medical clearance to wrestle due to his facial injuries and was forced to bow out of the MWF title match that day. And with momentum being very key in professional wrestling, this setback for obtaining the MWF World title turned out to be costly indeed for Double-7.
With both Double-7 and Brett Krueger now out of MWF World title contention for the time being, they set their collective sights back on each other once again as Krueger attempted to gain revenge for Double-7 turning on him at Saturday Slugfest 3. Thus, the very first one-on-one match between Brett Krueger and Double-7 was signed for MWF In Your Face 5 : Ride the Lightning. And with Brett Krueger the reigning MWF U.S. Champion, the stakes were high indeed. Krueger, however, wrestled a competitive, scintillating match against Simmons, and was able to put down Double-7's challenge when Simmons' cocky attitude got the better of him. Simmons had Krueger set up for the Double-7 deathdrop, but bragged to the crowd a moment too long as Krueger reversed the deathdrop into his own finisher, the double-underhook face bomb to successfully repulse Double-7 to defend the U.S. title and drop Double-7 down a few notches on the list of MWF U.S. title contenders.
After taking off several MWF events to heal some nagging injuries, the comeback king Double-7 regained his title momentum at MWF Summer Showdown 1999 with a clean pinfall victory over his old nemesis former MWF World Champion Mountain of Love (who had previously lost his MWF World title belt to Rugged Ralph a short time before this match). With this victory, Double-7 once again sought to 3-peat as MWF U.S. champion and signed to wrestle the reigning MWF U.S. champion Bobo Bravado one week later at MWF In Your Face 7: Wrestlers in the Mist. Despite taking a horrendous beating from Bravado, managed to reverse Bravado's finisher out of nowhere into his own Double-7 deathdrop and pin Bravado to win the belt. Unfortunately for Simmons, his victory celebration was cut short as Fiend, a masked man wearing a Dr. Destruction t-shirt & Mountain of Love all came down to the ring and attacked Double-7 on behalf of Bravado hitting him with their finishing manuevers the Backlash, Doctor-Bomb, and Death Valley Driver respectively. Then in a token of victory, Bobo Bravado hit his own finisher on Simmons, the jack-hammer, and all 4 men left the ring together leaving Double-7 semi-conscious in the ring and a victim of the new Hard Corps.
Double-7 sought revenge, and in so doing, was forced to team with Carnage and MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph against the team of Fiend, Mountain of Love, and newcomer Sergeant Joe Black at the main event of MWF Superclash 99 : You Want Blood, You Got It! The match was a 6-man team elimination match, once a member of 1 team was busted open and bloodied, then that man was eliminated from the match until 1 side remained. With opponent Sergeant Joe Black elminated, Double-7 outlasted both of his teammates Carnage and Rugged Ralph and eliminated Mountain of Love by face-slamming him into a steel chair. Left alone with Fiend, that same steel chair was used as Double-7 attempted his top-rope swandive headbutt, Mountain of Love threw the chair in front of the headbutt, causing Double-7 to strike it instead of Fiend and cause him to bleed and eliminate him from the match with the Hard Corps' Fiend being declared the winner. Following the prior 6-man match, MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph returned to the ring and was enfuriated that Double-7 lost the elimination match for his team prompting Double-7 to challenge him to a MWF World title match on the spot which Rugged Ralph accepted. MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph got the better of Simmons, however, and successfully defended the MWF World title by pinning Double-7 Chris Simmons with his "eradicator" standing bulldog onto the MWF World title belt (and also placing his feet on the ropes for extra leverage). Following the match, former MWF World champ Mountain of Love ran in to attack Rugged Ralph but Ralph was saved by Double-7 Chris Simmons who together with Ralph ran off Mountain of Love. Double-7 then said to Ralph that he saved him because he wanted another crack at his title somewhere down the line. Ralph gave Simmons the "thumbs up" as he was leaving the ringside area perhaps signifying a new alliance.
Rugged Ralph never gave Double-7 a return title shot, however, as the main event signed for MWF In Your Face 9 : Eye of the Hurricane was a tag team Match - the wrestler scoring the pinfall to receive an MWF World title shot against MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph at a future MWF event - Double-7 Chris Simmons and Carnage vs. the Hard Corps - Mountain of Love & Bobo Bravado (w/Mr. D) . Simmons tried gamely to score the pinfall to gain his next MWF World title shot, but he became involved in a brawl outside the ring with Bobo Bravado and Mr. D while Mountain of Love pinned Carnage inside the ring with his death valley driver to win the match and get the return title match against Rugged Ralph.
At MWF Wrestlemania 1999, Double-7 once again faced the former MWF U.S. Champion Bobo Bravado in a rematch for that title. This time, however, with the Hard Corps at the height of their power, Double-7 was defeated when Bravado reversed a Double-7 hurricarana attempt into a powerbomb and was pinned to lose the U.S. belt.
With Double-7 temporarily out of the hunt for either of the MWF's top singles titles, he captained a MWF Survivor Series team against a team consisting of the new Flock reformed by Fiend captained by Fiend's new protege, Overkill. A new feud was born as Double-7 fought the physically imposing Overkill to a double-countout in that Survivor Series match.
2000
At the first card of 2000 - MWF Saturday Slugfest 7 - The Orient Express members - Terry Aki, Mr. Hiamoto, Professor Hishitzu, and Takashi Budabay came to ringside to challenge any MWF tag-team and offered an open MWF tag title shot. Terry Aki made his way to the lockeroom in search of potential contenders while the other Orient Express members remained in the ring. The crack MWF Audio crew managed to pick up sounds of a backstage brawl, then suddenly the music of RUGGED RALPH sounded and Rugged Ralph made his way to the ring. Rugged Ralph had apparently taken out Terry Aki backstage and announced that HE was going to challenge the Orient Express himself. Mr. Hiamoto and Professor Hishitzu then attacked Rugged Ralph and the match was on!! The Orient Express members quickly got the upper hand on their opponent when the music of Double-7 Chris Simmons played and Double-7 made his way to the ring. Thus, Rugged Ralph & Double-7 Chris Simmons defeated the MWF World tag team champions Orient Express when Rugged Ralph pinned Professor Hishitzu following a Double-7 top-rope kamikaze headbutt to become the N-E-W MWF World Tag Team Champions. In the main event, Double-7's new-found tag partner Rugged Ralph was the special referee for the WAR GAMES main event of the card. The match was a 6-man tag team match where partners were drawn at random to compete against opponents drawn at random. By the luck of the draw, Double-7 Chris Simmons was matched with Carnage and Fiend against the team of Dr. Destruction, MWF World Champion Mountain of Love and Sergeant Joe Black . As referee, Rugged Ralph called the match fairly until Carnage got in his face several times during the match. The end of the match came when Carnage became so enfuriated by Rugged Ralph's slow counts of his pinfall attempts, this allowed a member of Carnage's opponents - Sergeant Joe Black - to hit his finisher the TKO on Carnage and pin him to win the match. Following the match, with Carnage recovering from the manuever, Carnage's manager BLACK WIDOW confronted special referee Rugged Ralph and slapped him in the face. Rugged Ralph then locked her in his ERADICATOR standing bulldog finisher driving the Widow's head into the canvas totally laying out the Widow. Black Widow was severely injured from the attack and needed to be stretchered out of MWF arena. Double-7 did not act to do anything about his new tag team partner's actions, but questions were clearly raised in his mind on his new alliance. Here was Rugged Ralph making new enemies with Carnage when he and Double-7 had tag team titles to defend.
At MWF IN Your Face 10 - End of Days - 4/1/2000, MWF President Dr. Destruction announced that reigning MWF World TV Champion SID had been institutionalized and that he was therefore stripped of the MWF World Television title, and that a 3-way dance would be held to determine a new champion. The match would take place later on the card and would involve Destruction's Hard Corps partner Fiend, Double-7 Chris Simmons, & Sgt. Joe Black. Dr. Destruction turned out to be anything but impartial as he pulled the referee out of the ring as Double-7 had executed his flying headbutt finisher on Sgt. Black. As Double-7 turned his attention to Destruction, Fiend took the opportunity to execute his "backlash" finisher on Simmons and pinned him to become the new MWF TV Champion.
But Rugged Ralph forgot about Carnage and now concentrated on defending the MWF tag team titles with his partner Double-7 Chris Simmons. At MWF Spring Fling 2000 - April 29, 2000, defeated former tag champs Gynecologist Gabe & Slick Caddy in an impressive match of the year candidate. But their streak ran out at MWF In Your Face 11 - Mission Impossible - May 20th, 2000 as the Boyz in da Hood 2Pac Notsure & Jim Dirty defeated the MWF World Tag Team Champions Rugged Ralph & Double-7 Chris Simmons in a Street Fight match. During the course of the weapons match, Double-7 inadvertantly struck Rugged Ralph with a garbage can lid when 2Pac Notsure ducked the attack. Incensed, Rugged Ralph turned on his partner and aided the Boyz in da Hood in pinning Double-7 following a Rugged Ralph eradicator bulldog on a steel chair.
At MWF In Your Face 11 : Mission Impossible - May 20th, 2000 Double-7 Chris Simmons gained revenge for Ralph's turn and defeated him in a Ladder Match when Double-7 hit 2 consecutive kamikaze headbutts (leap-frogging over ladders in each corner) to pin Rugged Ralph for the 1-2-3.
Double-7 took on Brett Krueger at MWF Middletown Massacre 2000 - July 8th, 2000. Following an excellent match, Simmons hit his kamikaze swan dive headbutt from the top rope to take the victory over Brett Krueger.
At MWF BattleBowl 2000 - August 5th, 2000, Double-7 had the chance to compete for the MWF Hardcore title since Carnage had vacated it when he won the MWF World title at Summer Showdown 2000. Double-7 teamed with The Dude and was victorious over Professor Hishitzu and Great White Hunter when Double-7 pinned Great White Hunter with a kamikaze swan-dive headbutt from the top rope. But Double-7's MWF Hardcore title aspirations were cut short as his own BattleBowl partner The Dude eliminated him from the battle royal when Dude took advantage of Bobo Bravado weakening Simmons with a devastating belly-to-belly suplex to toss him over the top rope.
Denied a shot at the MWF Hardcore title, Double-7 was singed to face the MWF World Champion Carnage and Dr. Destruction in a 3-way dance. However, Carnage would again frustrate Simmons' chances for the big belt as Carnage succeeded in pinning Dr. Destruction with a lion-sault moonsault to eliminate him from the match, then pinned Double-7 as well after a double-decker powerbomb.
Before the scheduled tag team main event of MWF In Your Face 13 : Breaking the Chains - August 26, 2000 featuring Double-7, Rugged Ralph appeared and accused Simmon's partner, the masked White Snake of being the man that he retired at MWF Summer Showdown 2000 - Brett Krueger. White Snake denied being Brett Krueger, but when the White Snake made disparaging remarks about Rugged Ralph's eye (which was the target of a Brett Krueger fork attack weeks earlier), Rugged Ralph was convinced that White Snake was Brett Krueger. He then offered a $100,000 bounty to any man who could unmask White Snake and prove he was Brett Krueger. Double-7 and his partner The Snake were defeated by Mountain of Love & Andre Agony when Mountain of Love pinned White Snake with a guillotine legdrop off the top rope. Following the match, Double-7 attacked his partner and tried to unmask White Snake but the Snake managed to escape before he was unmasked.
At MWF WrestleMania 2000 - September 9, 2000, Double-7 Chris Simmons went on a rookie-killing spree as he pinned the dangerous newcomer Ares with the fade-to-black diamond cutter off the top rope. At MWF Autumn Onslaught 2000 - October 7, 2000, however, Double-7 was defeated by The Jock who pinned Double-7 with a urinagi suplex off the top rope.
At MWF Harborview Havoc - November 4, 2000, MWF Hardcore Champion Fiend & Brett Krueger defeated MWF World Champion Carnage & Double-7 Chris Simmons when Fiend pinned Carnage with his backlash back suplex-sidewalk slam onto a steel chair.
Though seemingly lost in the MWF shuffle, Double-7 is gearing up big-time to face Bobo Bravado at MWF New Year's Evil.
2001
At MWF New Year's Evil, Bobo Bravado finally got the upper hand on
Double-7 Chris Simmons after reversing a D-7 frankensteiner attempt
into a tigerbomb to pin him for the
3-count.
